As parents, we understand that no matter how educationally beneficial a game is, there are limits to how long any child (or adult) should spend in front of a computer screen.
This fall, we'll be introducing a timer system to help both parents and kids manage the amount of time spent playing the game:
- Set how long a child can play the game each day and in a single session, as well as what times of day the child can play.
- Integrated clues within the game to let players know when time is running low. For example, sprites might get 'sleepy' as the play session winds down.
- Context-sensitive time management: Your child won't be booted in the middle of building a level the second time is up; she'll have a chance to save her work and exit.
- Reports and alerts for parents showing how much time a child has spent playing the game.
