More Info

The game playing and editing tools in Gamestar Mechanic are built with a tool called Adobe Flash. Adobe, along with major browser and operating system providers, is ending support for Flash on 12/31/2020.

This means that if you try to play or make games at gamestarmechanic.com using a regular web browser (like Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge) after 12/31/2020, those parts of the site will not work.

The Gamestar app avoids these restrictions and will let you continue to access the version of Gamestar you're used to, including making and playing games.

The app is a temporary step: we're hard at work on the next version of Gamestar that will work directly in your regular web browser.

Why this is safe

The Gamestar Mechanic app includes a built-in web browser that can connect only to gamestarmechanic.com and executes all code, including the Flash code of the Gamestar game player and editor, inside a secure sandbox environment.
